These photos give me a place to post some of the poems friends have written to celebrate the arrival of the newest member of our family (and her place in the bigger human and celestial picture.)
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Wrinkled walnut
cracking the salty rind and paper-stiff skin
from outer edges of your
meaty limbs
Oh
how you break us open as we
peel, snap, sniff you
into our lives
A kiss to our lips
breadloaf warm
steaming moist
til we have chewed enough–
the laughter runs
like water
And we thirst
no
more.
Love to you all,
Peter

Gorgeous baby and a beautiful poem as a fitting tribute.
